International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg

Only newcomer directors may participate at the International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg, i.e. directors who are unknown to an international audience outside their home country.
We exclusively present selected high quality films by newcomer directors, because we love international arthouse cinema which takes itself seriously as well as its audience.
We search systematically through the annual world production of films by new arthouse directors. We deliberately present only a small but strong selection of about 50 films instead of screening 200 or 300 films – so that none of them will be overseen. For 65 years now the International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg has been a forum for new talents, for the art of cinema, for films with a personal signature – the author ́s film.
